Had a great day with Will and really enjoyed the initial talk and looking at his awesome collection of prehistoric flints. A superb day out and has kindled the wish to learn more.

I have done several courses over the last eighteen months and have enjoyed every one this being no exception. I like so many that have been introduced to the prehistoric world of flint knapping and living, am smitten with the experience. Watching Will work with flint is mesmerising his skill set is amazing. One, two three seems easy until you pick up a piece of flint yourself to observe the stone, prepare it before executing the first strike with a hammer stone or soft hammer in preparation to repeat the process. It’s a daunting task one that leaves you doubtful that you can achieve anything. What Will has however is patience, dedication and the ability to encourage the inner caveman to not give up but persevere in developing lost skills. With Will’s and on this occasion Blues’s help I managed to improve my skills expediently the ability to use a soft hammer correctly enabled me to work with the stones in a way that I never believed I could. Thank you Will I look forward to the next adventure x

We attended the flint knapping course and what a lovely day. Will is so full of knowledge and you can really see how much he enjoys teaching and educating his craft. We’d have been happy sitting and watching him work all day but we had a great time trying to replicate the tools of our ancestors. It was also really enjoyable hearing about Will’s travels and chatting about historical finds around the world. My biggest takeaway was a whole new appreciation for the craft and for our ancestors because it really isn’t as easy as you’d expect. Overall, fantastic day. Thankyou so much!

Evenings were spent around the campfire, enjoying live music and great company, which created a warm, communal atmosphere. The delicious food was a bonus, adding to the overall enjoyment of the weekend.
