Event Details

Primitive Carving Workshop.
Held at Grimes Graves, 4000, year old Neolithic flint mines.
Grimes Graves is in the heart of Breakland set in 35,000 acres of Thetford forest

Over 2 days you will have the perfect opportunity to come and learn some ancient carving techniques and explore various materials to create some artifacts such as the famous Venuses and animal totems left behind from the last retreating ice age.

During the course you will be introduced to flint technology and shown how to produce flint burins/drills and assisted to make various flint tools that were used by the creative artists of our past.

The raw materials that you will have to work with will be provided by us and consist of special qualities such as Prehistoric Bog Oak, Antler, Rams Horn, Long Horn, Bone, Lime stone and Chalk.

This is viewed by us to be a special event for not only ourselves, but our clients also, Therefore you will be invited to camp on location

Camping on Grimes Graves is extremely magical with its natural skyline where you are surrounded in history and natural beauty, this can only be experienced while attending my courses due to the special permission I have managed to obtain.

On the evening of the first night, we will be cooking a juicy venison around the fire and serve this with a hearty vegetable stew.

Attendants may arrive from 4.00pm on the day prior to the event.
